AARP, SBA to Host Local “Encore Entrepreneur” Event in Norwalk
AARP Connecticut is teaming up with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and SCORE to host an upcoming “Encore Entrepreneur” community resource and networking event on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Norwalk City Hall Community Room, 125 East Avenue in Norwalk, CT. The event is aimed at individuals over the age of 50 but is open to anyone who wants to learn more about how to start or grow their own small business. Participants will hear from experts and other local entrepreneurs as well as get access to a variety of state and local resources that can help them put their plans into action.

Small business ownership is a good option for many baby boomers. One in four individuals ages 44 to 70 is interested in becoming an entrepreneur and 63 percent of Americans plan to work during retirement, according to the website www.encore.org.
For the last several years AARP and SBA have partnered to provide a range of resources to more than 100,000 entrepreneurs and small business owners over the age of 50.
